wow, everything's changed now... especially for small builds.
we went in a couple weeks ago with a balanced rit, a w/n using verilance and mass conditions, a mo/me, and a sin and tore up almost everybody. the toucher teams dropped us all (though some of them had trouble doing it) and we ran into a guild/team with the tag (RUN)... they were all mo/me... we killed em.
other than the touchers, the only trouble we had was when we ran into a team with an AWSOME shut-down mesmer... he had me and the monk completely tied up with NO energy whatsoever.
so, besides touchers (and we'll be adapting our team with the new options for anti-touch) and the very impressive mesmer (any advice on how to get rid of a masemer WITHOUT having a mesmer on your team?) we did very well... can't get my peeps to get back to me with their skill lists, so...

in the blank, i traded out painful bond, defensive stance, draw spirit, and a few others.
i basically ran with 13 spawining and 13 communing leaving the rest for my alternate skill.
naturally, we set the spirits down and waited for the other team to come to us. i was almost always the first target. all together, we quit after 3 losses total - we left the TA's with 3 consecutive, 5 consecutive, and 8 consecutive. not bad for a "first-time" team.

long story short, the build doesn't matter anymore, because we are going to change it up after playing with the new skills and D and P - i'll get back with ya when we get more into it...
